Painting deadwood/trunks
I was just wondering, what do you think about the look of painted/dyed trunks. I have a tree im hollowing, which I dont know if I should have painted the inside with black ink.

I wouldn't use paint. If you feel you need to darken the bare wood to make the hollow look more hollow, use a wood stain. MinWax makes felt-tip markers in various natural wood stains. I use those.

Could you show a picture? Also one with the wood hardener used if you could. Thanks.

The use of paints or stains takes a lot of practice. Most attempts I've seen, look like they've been burned out by "hoodies" or "hobos"

The wood hardener bottle is out of reach right now, but here are the stain markers. Wood hardner borttle is same color, just pint size. Home Depot and Lowes carry them close by each other. There are 6-7 different wood stains in the markers.

I was thinking of pictures of a tree that these were used on.

Hopefully this is a picture of a Ficus benjaminia that I painted on 8/5 with Minwax Wood Hardener. It is too dark and shiny for my taste and I will do something about that in a few days when the Minwax is fully dry. Since the shape of this hollow made it possible I just poured the Minwax in and then spread it with a small brush.
