I have a garden that when i took over looking after it there was a problem with gorse at the one end. Here are a few photos of how i dealt with it.

I find that in most garden i try and use what is there already and try and make it in to a feature rather than fighting with it.

I gather it has magical properties to protect you from demons. You make a broom out of it to sweep away evil spirits.

Thanks Antonio, yes it looks great when it flowers. I didn't realise you had it over there. is it a native or did someone for some strage reason take it over there.
I remember the stuff called wait a while in Oz. That wasn't very nice.

Hi Smithy, your use of gorse as a clipped shrub is fantastic, I love the shapes you have created in contrast with the conifers.
I come from New Zealand originally where gorse is also a huge problem. In some parts of the country it has been discovered that the native trees seed really well when protected by the gorse then grow up and shade it out of existence so its being used as the first step in forest regeneration. Funny old world.
