Need I-D help

OK Ryan, here's another for you...

Last weekend at our club auction we had a nice selection of mostly small (shohin size) pots from a collector in Mississippi. I got 2 with this signature. So, who is it and how old are they? The pots are the same, round semi-cascade type, one yellow and the other cream.

I belive these pots came from the Frank Smith collection. I know he collected a lot of pots when he lived in Okinawa.
Hope this give you a leed.

Mitch, I think that's correct. I remember hearing that he lived in Okinawa, and that some of the pots would be from Korea and China too. Some really great small pots, but very few were marked.

Well, I knew this looked familiar...

Ryan said they're by "Koyou", and he's correct. I glanced through my list looking for a name made of 2 kanji, but he usually signs with three and that's the way it's listed in the catalogs. So, moral of the story, pay closer attention to the individual characters!
