Hose pipe ban
Well we said it would happen , three washout summers , the biggest floods ever and now a hose pipe ban !!!!!!!!!!!!
they are asking us to use rain water butts , BUT IT HASN'T RAINED FOR WEEKS , thats why theres a water shortage , so how are we to fill the water butts? .
it has its compensations you can go outside at 4am with only the birds for company , water the trees ,check them over , do all the jobs before it gets to hot (28c forecast today)

Re: Hose pipe ban
Somerset Tim. Reservoirs are full and no ban on HP's is in sight. However once everyone comes our way for their holidays (Grockles) and uses all of our water it may be altogether different.
I thought I was the only Numpty up at 4am spending time with the birds, nature and my trees?

Howzit Mike,
You can count me in the mix too. I also get up the same time to water my trees. It's kinda nice about that time of morning, it's quite and the only noise you hear is the water falling from my lani.

3am for me.
But that's because that's when I usually go to bed rather than when I get up.

Tim, I wish! What I am is an insomniac! It's not that I have a different length of day to everyone else - I just transpose it somewhat!Hawaiian77 wrote: Your just a party animal!! (Woo-Hoo!!)
As the saying goes: it's not that I don't like mornings - I just wish they came later in the day.

That's all relative! ;-)
I installed a well for irrigation here a few years ago...one of my better ideas, I wish I had done it years ago. It has been 37-38C all week!

Right now on Maui it's 87 degrees: Partly Cloudy Wind: SE at 6 mph: Humidity: 84% but the surf is small 1-4 foot range just enough to go boogie boarding!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! *^!%, **87%^£$^, %^*& and double %^*&!
That's it - I'm moving. We seem to be back to a more traditional British summer of rain., wind and of course that adding insult to injury thing - brilliant sunshine through it all.
I am as we speak sporting a very creative hairstyle as a result of cycling into a fierce headwind. And that was with the helmet on.
I now consider myself windswept and interesting.

Howzit Tim,
All I can say is "WOW"! And I thought that our rainforest was wet.
Fiona, We have tours that cycle down our volcano, you should come and try it.

Re: Hose pipe ban
Back up by my folks they had quite a bit of rain last week. One night had over 6 inches fall. One of the bigger towns was completely closed in because every single road into town crosses a stream or small river so they were all flooded out.
