Just finished prep on my juniper for our clubs show
this weekend had to re-carve after finding some rot in
the trunk centre took 2 days Dance ThumbsUp
picture quality is naff!!

I can not see to much detail in the photo but it looks like a nice tree. thumbs up

Hi Mike did,nt mind at all, interesting ! maybe a tad too much though, looks a bit flat

Thankyou Pongsatorn.k for backing me up on my critique.
I wonder who coined the term, "helmethead"? It does accurately describe this tree. That's the reasoning behind my removing the "helmet". An old mature tree will usually flatten out on the crown, and this trick of styling bonsai helps to give a more aged appearance. If I had this bonsai and was going to change it's appearance, I would consider saving some of what I removed to make some jin branching at the apex. Would age the tree.
