Podocarpus macrophyllus - sometimes called the Chinese yew, though it is not a yew.

In South Africa we call the Podocarpus: Yellowwood tree.

Judging by the size of the needles in the photo yu might have one of the dwarf varieties of Podocarpus, either P. Macrophylla Maki or P. alpinus. Either way, the tree is very desirable as a bonsai - good luck with it.

BTW this is one of the most exceedingly slow growers around. In a bonsai pot the trunk will never thick. You are going to have to work with what you have unless you can plant it in the ground for a few years.
