My azalea blooming _dsc0012
Hi, everybody!

This is my Satsuki in full bloom right now that is kind of early for Mocow - we enjoyed a very warm spring this year. Normally if kept in the open they flower somewhere towards the end of June. I bought it a few years ago at the Green Club in Tokyo and since then has been trying to compact it in relationg to its slender trunk and do something about some overgrown branches and its is gradually taking a better shape. Overwintering it in a dark cellar was problematic initially as in spring the tree obviously needed some rehabilitation with signs of some root rot. I guess the tree needed some time to realize that it ended up being in Moscow suburbs. Smile Judging by this blooming these problems are in the past.

Regards,

Lovely tree. I like the ones with the simple small flowers.

I think you will find that it will want a pot that is a bit deeper than this one for the long haul. Azaleas seem to like a bit more room for the mass of fine roots they produce.

Thanks, Jim! Couldn't agree more. With relatively dry air in my region almost any tree prefers larger pot for a long term.Smile
