I get it - I think! You are going to keep it in the ground; but have ambitions to style it. Looks like a fun project. Regards, Todd

Don't let Pavel see this, Smithy. He'll probably try to collect it! Very Happy

Here is one I started last year. I would probably do it a bit different if i was stating it now.I would cut it lower but i'm going to go with it now. I just experiment and try things out on trees which have to come down . I've spent a year clearing this garden and there are some big trees here to play with.

Don't let anyone discourage you. I've taken down three Amur Maples that were 20 to 25 feet tall a piece. Used fork lifts to load them into the van.

They are growing gang busters in fifty gallon pots right now. Intend to reduce the roots next spring.

Took two days and a tractor to remove two of them.

Hats off to you Michael bounce Thats the way to go. If i had a bigger garden i would have bought home allsorts by now.My tiny front garden has been built up on unwanted trees from gardens. Lots of sweat and hernias gone into that garden.

I'working on two hawthorns behind this one it so i think i'll leave this in the ground. This area of the garden was thick growth and the hawthrns are more what i can fit in my garden. I've spent 18 months clearing this garden, and i have a back drop of 300 yr ( i think) old oaks so i am making some of the trees i have left into bonsai /niwaki style to make the lower storey. I forgot to take pictures of before i started , .
