Collected frustrations!

Post  Jay Gaydosh on Tue Apr 27, 2010 3:09 pm

OK, here is the scenario:

I built a compost bin out of wooden pallets standing on their sides and fastened together.

I ended up with a volunteer elm growing inside one of the pallets. For approximately 8 years, I wacked at this tree... sprayed it...painted it...slowly attempting to kill it back.

I finally got it in my mind that this wrist-thick trunck would do better in a grow box on my patio. So, I tore apart the pallet, carefully dug up the elm, collected what I believed was a good set of roots and planted it in a well drained bonsai mix in a temporary box (with hopes of some day adding it to my bonsai collection.

Less than a year later... my "everlasting elm" ... Is dead!

I think they do this just to tick us off! Very Happy
