Hi Bobby,

Will try to get myself a copy of this, just read the review of it on Tom Waits' website.

I missed the chance to see him many years ago at the Edinburgh Playhouse. The whole gig was lit by only one spotlight and at the piano he had one of those lamps that mechanics use (lightbulb with a wire cage round it - cant think of the correct name for it - trailing lamp maybe?). Apparently he drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels during the gig, with his voice and piano playing improving the further down the bottle he got drunken

No doubting the genius of the guy - The Heart of Saturday Night and Blue Valentine say it all for me.

I still regret missing the gig, but not as much as passing up the chance of a free ticket to see The Stone Roses in the 'tent' on Glasgow Green - still reported as their best gig ever.

Will let you know what I think of the Glitter and Doom album if I get myself a copy.

Cheers

Paul

never seen him myself. he's a bit of a lazy sod these days and only does one date in the uk when he does get around to touring. If you've not heard any of his stuff since Heart of Saturday Night you might be in for a (pleasant) suprise when you hear the newer stuff Very Happy
