Trees downunder in training.

Hello there from Australia, although Ive been here a while reading, Im pretty much new here when it comes to posting. I got myself a cheap second hand camera yesterday and thought Id put a picture up of my small bench of trees that are in training. Any comments critical or good are welcome. Cheers Eddie.

Thanx Jaco, I dont have any finished trees, everything is still in training at the moment. The fig still needs abit of refinement. But I will definitely show some more pics of my trees in training. Cheers Eddie

I would like to tell you that your trees are great but you should remove the stilt roots from the ficus retusa as they tend to weaken other parts of the branch...

Liked the trees. I simply love ficus trees, and sadly only have 2 of them myself, and its not humid enough here, nor warm enough to get aerial roots.

Btw, Scissorhands is a very nice film! One of my favourites, and been that for many years.
Just dont cut all your trees like dinosaurs.

I really like your trees. Aerial roots on ficus ....you either love them or hate them ! I happen to love them & think good aerial roots portray the tree as it really grows. I'm not sure I agree with the comment that they "weaken" the branches. I've seen just the opposite...I believe they strengthen the branch they are attached too, and must be carefully watched that they do no not "thicken" that branch too much.

Thanx Storm and Jerry for your compliments, much appreciated. Storm, Edward Scissorhand is one of my favourite movie characters too. Ed, thanx for the advice. I hope that the largest branch doesnt thicken too much. Because of the shallow container, I hope it will restrict it from doing so.

Hi Storm, I havent got any fixed plan for it, I usually leave alot of options until the tree tells me what it wants to do in the future. Perhaps an image of 2 broad fine branched canopies with lovely sweeping branches capture my mind. Do you have an image in your mind? Cheers Eddie
