Collecting madness! Empty Collecting madness!

So there I was rucksack on back with the rain pounding down on my wooly hat as it quickly lost any water repellent qualities. Where ordinarily a grass path lay a river rushed beneath my leaking wellies gradually filling with cold water. I trudged on loving the moment and enjoying the fresh air and scenery, I had to laugh to myself as the thought crossed my mind (I’m bloody mad!). Permission had been granted to collect a Sloe growing out of a stone wall and today was the day that I had promised myself to collect it. By the time I’d returned to my car with packaged tree I was soaked through to the skin and steaming but very very happy! Am I alone in my seeming madness where most would stay indoors. Question Very Happy

That wasn't madness - it seemed like a damn fine day out to me.

And if you call that rain... ptcha!! Interestingly, "steaming" has an altogether different colloquial meaning up here. I just hope you didn't drive in that condition.

Collecting days are some of my favorite days. People who stumble upon our activities must think we are pretty nuts though. I know my friends are very confused with this entire hobby that we share. Smile
