The Joy of Cake event at the weekend
Well done Tony. I've been waiting for this one. Usually when one drinks a cup of tea, one extends one's little finger. Is this Scottish etiquette we see here?

Absolutely Will. The extending of the middle finger is positively de rigeur in Scottish polite society circles. It narrowly precedes the other grand gesture - two fingers right in the eyes.will baddeley wrote: Usually when one drinks a cup of tea, one extends one's little finger. Hah!
And anyway, it was a lemon slice. That mentions fruit in its title so counts as one of my five a day.

Hah! You have one teeny wee slice of low-fat low-sugar cake all weekend and get pelters for it ever after!
But here is what Antoine Careme said of cake and other sweet goodies in relation to art:
βThe fine arts are five in number: painting, sculpture, poetry, music and architecture, the principal branch of the latter being confectionery.β
Time bonsai caught up with this list. I'm actually quite seriously considering extending a concept mooted by John Quinn (well, sort of) on another thread and will forthwith commission Paul Finch to create a bonsai out of cake and chocolate.
Can we have a bonsai event in that cake heaven Vienna next please?
