I have this Lonicera and wondered if anyone had any input to the front . I was originally going to keep the trunk and use that as the front but i can now see that the back has a much better nebari . So if i lost the main trunk i could use the back.

I like view 2 as well, nice rootage from that angle.
I'd think about taking out the main trunk and using the smaller of the two - that would give you nice taper. Depends on whether you can get branches in sensible places, and which trunk those big surface roots are supporting.

Hallo Smithy

If you like kaskades (like I do) have a look at the roots by the next repotting.
You possibly find a nice halfkaskade by sidelaying the trunk.
A longer way than to get a good result but real worth the effort.

Kind regards
Martin

Yes i think it would be a shame to loose the nebari. I can't see the cascade in it, and i've only got one cascade i've done and i'm very good at it.

Good choice of front Smithy.
I really should get on and re-pot mine and think a bit more about it's future development. It seems that you are well ahead of me!!!!

Keep us posted,

Hey simon
I messed around with mine for a couple of years not really knowing which way to go with it. At least they grow quick and make up for lost time.
