Flowerpotadori yew

Post  AlainK on Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:27 am

Some can get their hands on XXL yamadori, some like me have to content themslves with seedlings found in a flower-pot. Anyway, what can you do, but there's room for the little ones, isn't there?...

Taken in April 2008 from a discarded flower pot where it must have spent some 5-6 years I guess :

Trunk bent under soil level :

Why not, after all ?

February 2010 :

Nothing extraordinary, but I think it could become a nice shohin in a couple of years...

Excellent use of self sown material. I maintain it takes more skill to produce a convincing tree from humble beginings, than it does with high quality yamadori. Well done Alain Very Happy

Great one with your flowerpotadori Smile Most of my material has come from beginnings like that. They are very satisfying in the end.
