Sequoiadendron giganteum
Pretty hard to cultivate, and this one is far from deserving to be part of a local exhibition, but just for the record :

A very good start Alain...from one who has walked among these amazing giants a number of times...
Pat...mounted on my trusty steed, riding off, wildly, in all directions...

The images (links are there, but hidden) Alain has linked to are on a different image hosting site, which appears to be not responding, at the moment.

Thanks for your interest in this experience:
- the images are hosted on a personal website: apinc.org stands for "Association pour la Promotion de l'Internet Non-Commercial" . Since it's a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, when a machine runs down, the "experts" have to go to the place somewhere in Paris where they can fix the computer. When they have to replace it, it can take several hours. I have other more professional webspaces that I hire for other projects, but I like the philosophy of this association : bonsai is being patient, anyway...
- no, it was not collected : I started with a 20-cm seedling in a 10-cm high pot I bought at a plant festival some 15 (?) years ago. Part of the story is there :
Sequoiadendron giganteum
Pat, when it's a real bonsai, maybe it can fetch a good price so my sons can sell it and stroll in these sequoia groves. I don't believe I can do it myself in my lifetime, but I like the idea thay will outlive me for the best
