How many sides to a stone?
My knowledge of Suiseki is limited but I thought that this stone was interesting. The stone is about 5 inches tall and I think it is quartz and it is from the Saluda river near Columbia South Carolina.
Which view do you think is the best, is it even worth while and how would you display it?

I think your stone is very interesting, it has many stories to tell. Jim's version is only one of them. I would advise you to study your stone and decide which view YOU find the most engrossing. Enjoy.

Oh, Carolee... Its not on-topic for the stone forum, but a close friend for 18 years passed on this past holiday season. She looked much like your logo when trimmed, and a bit younger...
Koki with Senju (noh theatre character)
I like the yellow quartzite stone alot. My favorites are longer rather than rounder & perhaps a bit heavier on one end-- typical (isn't it sad to follow the crowd) of traditional Chinese scholar rocks. If I lived in Columbia SC & had stones like this, I'd stay awake nights protecting them from Dr. John Quinn.

Not to worry. Besides, Ken has forgotten more about bonsai than I'll ever know and I owe him a lot.
