hi,
At the recent Xmas open day at Bonllwyn, I displayed some of my locally collected winter image mountain stones.

Hi Jerry,

The stones you displayed are fantastic and it's especially great that they were locally collected. Do you carve all your daiza ? The top stone is highly complimented by the swooping left side of the daiza. Good work!!

I've really missed your eye for good display and I've recently been working on my own collected stones. Hope to show some soon....

And Kev ...this "stone lover" thanks you Very Happy

Hi Norma,
Great to be able to share and hear from you again.
Thank you for your encouraging comments.
Yes, all the stones where collected by me in Pembrokeshire. I also carved all the daiza.
The swooping came in 3 attempts at refining this dai. I find it takes me a few attempts to get the best out of each one I carve.
It's usually knowing when to stop. Smile
Look forwards to seeing your collected stones soon.
best regards,
jerry

Great stones Jerry. Glad to see you got the hang of posting. It's a bit tricky but worth persisting.

What do others think about the thumbnail opening offsite? Should we stick to larger images on site?

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the comment.
re, the pics, I have only figured out how to use the thumbnail so far. Larger on site would I feel be better. I'll keep trying.
It's just a joy to be able to chat and share again.
best regards,

Kevin...about your question concerning size of pictures, the only thing I didn't like about the thumbnails was the opening of the offsite picture with ads and popups. The url alone was better if keeping memory size down for free forum is a consideration. I did try different sizes in my thread and do think the smallest was adequate.

Personally I like a full picture that I don't have to click on.

Thanks for all your fine work ...

I have to agree I much prefer to see without going offsite.
And Kev, Thank You for starting this forum, I as well have missed reading and seeing what everybody else is doing...Winter time is a drag.
Will you and Terry be able to incorporate this site with the other so we don't lose any information?
Irene
