Pots have been frozen solid for two days now. Podocarpus are covered -- but probably still shivering. We're supposed to have "winter mix" precipitation tonight and it'll be (just) above freezing for a change.

Just looking at me in short sleeves makes me shiver. ------------------------------------------------------------>

How all you people in Montana and Minnesota and Canada and other "Nawthun" climes can live in this kind of weather is beyond me, and OUR temps are nothing like yours!

Different folks, different strokes. Me, I hate warm weather. The only way I can suffer great heat is to stay in the water. I relish getting out in the mountains in Winter. The snowier and colder the better! Just wrap up warm and stamp around Jim.

Lovely sunny frosty day here today. The first it hasn't rained in about six weeks.

We've come out of a week of unseasonably cold weather. We usually get a couple of weeks of temperatures near 0 F ( -18 C) at night with daytime highs not quite managing to get to 20 F ( -7 C) in January or February. The daytime temps have been about right, but we have been getting nights with temps around -8 F ( -22 C ).

We are back to having temps just a bit below freezing at night, and just a bit above it during the day. What is funny is at 4200 feet elevation on the edge of the Oregon high desert, it is still quite dry. When it is close to freezing it feels colder than when it much below, since the colder air just can't hold as much humidity.
