Japanese Maple Landscape Penjing

4 years old and a WIP , will start turning color in a month or so...

Pot is 25"x16"x3", Maples are 25" high from soil...

Critiques welcomed...

I would be happy to spend several hours in the shade of this forest chatting with your scholars...

As the trees grow more mature, you might want to thin the leaves to better show some more of the lower branching.

For right now, continue caring for it as you have and enjoy it.  It is a very nice composition with the different sizes of trunks, rocks in the background, the variety of mosses and gravel pebbles, the little bit of exposed rootage, the two surface level trunks, the four partly-buried steps.  Well-balanced container dimensions for this piece.  (My wife also says it is very pretty.)

When the leaves are at their peak, please post a picture for us.

it will also be especially nicer looking when the younger ones lose that green on the trunks !
i may also suggest adding some seperation and definition to the canopy...
as it is, if one blocked all the trunks from view, the canopy would appear to be from a single large tree...
