We registered some 30 new members to the society.

Mazal tov. A great improvement over the last time someone posted pictures of an Israeli show. Just in time for Tu BiShevat (New Year of the Trees). But what do you mean by the foundation event? And how come only three exhibitors? Anyway, keep up the good work & keep us posted.

Hi Iris,
Thank you.
Until now there was only one bonsai organization in Israel.
In this convention we established a new one - the Israel bonsai society.
The bonsai show was just a small one because it was not the main purpose of the event, it was just meant to be
one of many attractions that will encourage folks to come and sign as members.
We will have a much more serious show in October.

You are most welcome, I can send you an application form, but what's the point if you can't attend the meetings?

Please let me say a few words about our friend, Iris who has written many fine bonsai articles; recently an 8-part series in the American publication International Bonsai. Her desire to become a member of your society is very complimentary plus I'm sure your club would benefit from her financial support. My bonsai club has several members who are not active but wish to see their membership contribute to our support.

Dunno how much financial support I can give, but I can try to schnorr* specific items that might be lacking in Israel. I am interested in Israel & interested in bonsai, ergo very interested in bonsai in Israel. Are you going to have a Web site or newsletter? Is anybody doing anything with the bonsai exhibit at the Jerusalem Botanical Garden?
