Potential for Dragons Blood

Hi all

I was walking through a village recently in Southern England and I stumbled across a hedge. My immediate thought is that it had massive potential to try and replicate a Dragon's Blood tree as it is in the wild. The leaf will be completely different but it would still make for a great tree (in my humble opinion).

Does anyone know what species this hedge is?

I cannot tell whether the leaves are "boxwood size" or larger. If larger could it be evergreen euonymus?

(In my area, euonymus is very susceptible to scale. The scale will destroy a large shrub over the course of a summer. Just keep an eye out.)

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards Buxus at present. I'm tempted to knock on the owners door and ask...will let you know if I get a confirmation one way or another.

I guess not. I had a cut on my heel that wouldn't heal (English, sheesh) and I asked the owner of our natural food store and he said, "ever hear of dragons blood?" Well I hadn't, he said he uses it all the time on cuts and that they sell a lot of it. So of course I googled it and Bob's your uncle. I was amazed how well it worked. It forms a skin over the cut that didn't wash off after a shower the same day. One week later it was still on some cuts on my arm. I'm sold.

Didn't mean to throw it off course. Just an interesting aside I thought. Blame on hurricane's Madeline and Lester bearing down on us. Power will be out again no doubt.
