native accent plant

not sure if i posted this before, but...



this is a lake michigan shoreline native... the southern east coast of wisconsin - (being the western shore of lake michigan)
zone 5b

if anyone knows what it is, feel free to chime in...

Hello Kevin - very nice accent!  It sure looks like Potentilla anserina (Silverweed Cinquefoil) to me.

We have that over here in the UK as a wildflower too. It is Potentilla anserina as David said, but the common name here is just Silverweed, probably so we don't mix it up with another very common wildflower Creeping Cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans).

The pb with accent plants is that you are never sure that they are at their best if you want to have a "three-point-display" (bonsai, accent, kakemono).

Sedums and Sempervivums that are now integrated (segregation never, integration now! Cool ) are cool hosts in my environment:





Sometimes, you can even find unusual variegations from a plant thet found its own way in your garden:
