Re: Green Stripe Bamboo in progress
Looks like Bambus maultiplex, most likely cultivar 'Alphonse Karr', though there are many named varieties of B. multiplex. Nice bamboo to work with. I love the red highlights in the new culms.
The book, ''Bonsai Techniques II'' by John Naka has a chapter outlining a technique for shortening the internode length of new culms (canes) as they emerge as new shoots. See if you can find it. Method does work, though the bamboo clump has to have a well established and vigorous rhizome in the pot before beginning.

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for, really appreciate that direction. I had the Latin name of this Bamboo, I got 12m tall branches in my Garden of this potted individual. Thanks again!!
