Fishmeal fertilises
My family and i always have fish for our evening meal every Friday, and we usually have a lot of fish left over. (the man next door has a fishing boat) My wife keeps telling me that when she calls in to collect the fish my neighbour won"t take any money, as he says it gives him great pleasure just to see the satisfaction on her face. Our cat cant stand fish and our dog just buries it in the garden then digs it up after a couple of weeks, eats it, then is sick all over the carpets. Anyway, i came up with a cunning plan. What i now do with the leftover fish is break it into small pieces and place it under the grill on half power, i leave it for around 30 mins. until it is crispy dry. i continue doing this most of Frid. evening until it is all grilled, i then put it in the blender and grind it down to a powder and put it in jars. With luck i should have a whole larder full ready for the spring and enough to feed my Bonsai all year, and should have some extra left over for my friend at the Bonsai club. You cant imagine the excitement come a Frid. with my wife waiting for the fisherman to come home with his catch, and me returning from work desperate to finish my meal to get ready to make my fertiliser. Life is good, and even better with my good wife..

Sounds like a plan, you could also try making your own fishmeal emulsion, so long as you can put up with the smell in summer.
