Bald Cypress Slab Planting Video

This is a bonsai planting on a slab of 23 bald cypress trees.  I carved the slab from a piece of Pennsylvania Bluestone.

how long have you been using haydite ?
and what are your thought about it - pros and cons ?

i have recently begun incorporating it into my mix (starting this season) as it is easily sourced up north here

I've been using haydite for 22 years.  Works great.  The only con is the color.  I'd like a darker looking bonsai soil.  Haydite is considerably lighter than what I'd want.

You can get haydite is a variety of sizes, although only two sizes are appropriate for bonsai.  The company that sells it to me in bulk has it in 1/4" and 3/16" sizes.
