Hello, i am here to show you this humble tree, its a "Figueira Mata-pau", something like "Killing tree Fig", since it has a lot of adventicious roots and normaly kill others trees with a tight hug, this is called structural parasitism. I do like to work with this specie since it roots easily and grows fast. Even with big leaves, its easy to make it small with trimming. This one was made with a cutting, since its a good way to multiply my work material. Now i am trying to get more strong branchs and ramifications, meanwhile i let it for your criticism.

I like it and do something similar in Costa Rica with native strangler figs. In fact I wonder if thats one of the species I find here. The leaves and trunk color are the same from what I see. Does this grow a lot of taper in the trunks and branches? Do big ones have arial roots? It looks so similar and it seems possible that it could be found here too. I like going and taking them off coffee and fruit trees where there pests. There free and I end up saving them from the machete. I would really like to see how this tree and others of local species and what you do with them. Thank you for posting this!

Eric I couldn´t agree more with you. We need to understand and learn to use our species, because we don´t do that, we will be always making a bad copy of a japanese bonsai.
