First I would like to thank those who took the time to identify my Jade in the questions forum. Finally re potted it and trimmed it down. Didn't have a great backdrop, but it was the best I could do. Hopefully the cuttings root.

That's got some nice trunk movement. I would hold off on the water for a month or so until it regrows its leaves. I've found that they prefer bone dry conditions rather than wet. I let mine go until its starting to shrivel some.

Looks like a great project! Did you let the cuttings callus over before potting, or just pot them right up?

That is the problem with Taxonomy. They change as we discover more and more. And some are incorrect form the beginning, the reason why Africa lost the name Acacia, for its thorny trees.

I can find you monographs on Encephalartos (Cycad) species in South Africa that still refers to them as Zamia. This doesn't mean its correct, just out of date, or wrongly named.

If you want to call Portulacaria afra, the mini jade, what are you going to call Crassula argentea var compacta? scratch

I rest my case.

if the native afrikaans name was something less fun to say, i would probably just call it an afra...
