Collection in 2014.

Nice alligator skin. Lower part of the trunk squashed due to its development in a crevice though.  How can I fix it?

I think that by choosing the front, you solved the problem.

Very nice project.

A little bit too late, Alain Very Happy
With regards to the air layering, it looks like one can layer successfully thick branches with this species. Is it?
I know this to be true with Tamarix but this is the first time I am encountered with this size of an airlayer with Pyrus.
What is the circumference at the site of layering, Vlad?

The diameter is about 7 cm. I guess it was about 6 cm at the time of layering.

It takes me a year to make the decision to do the airlayer. The breaking point was an article from Mimo who shared an airlayered pear on the local forum. So Mimo is a Godfather of this tree...
In case you will need more information about this pear and the airlayering you can visit my blog.

@Aalain&Mimo: Thank you for your comments Wink
