Filling hole through trunk of tree.
I have just read an old thread by Tony Tickle.regarding, drilling a hole through trunk cutting slot and bending.I have a larch with about a 40deg,kink near the top, that I would like to try this on.What would be the best thing to use to fill the hole after.

I used this old technique on a pine and on a larch 3 years ago. No filling inside the hole, just closed the slit by the bend. Applied cut paste on the slit from the outside. Wires to keep the trunk in position have been removed after two years.

Can we please see a picture? There's a tree down the road from me that has a natural hole all the way thru the trunk. Maybe you can incorporate??

Why not cut it off at that point and use the nice long shoot to build a top with more taper?
