Coastal composition revisited 01210

It has been a few years since I first posted this. It has undergone some styling changes since that time.

I like the way you imitated waves rolling in on the water part.

Whole composition is nice, what kind of tree?

Thank you Leo...the tree is a hinoki cypress. I crafted the ocean side using mixtures of nitrates and oxides of copper, manganese, zinc, and cobalt suspended in isopropyl alcohol. While the "waves" were still damp I used a small spatula to wisp them up some, kind of like you would ice a cake. After everything had thoroughly dried I put down a coat of clear epoxy. I hope this helps regarding your question.

Tom,

I saw a memory, of a piece of quarry land, that I wanted buy when I about 30. The guy who owned it
had cut away all of the land and left, what you have standing, with a Jamoon tree on the top.
It was large enough for a small house and a bridge to the untouched landmass.

A river ran by about 30 feet from the foot of the mass.Shallow and broad,-----------,fish were jumping.

Thanks, for a great recall of the past.
Laters.

Tom that is really nice. Thanks for sharing.

Seems a bit tall for the width of the base. Have you considered a larger/wider pot or container?

great composition and use of a beautiful rock...
like leo said, good work on simulating waves

the only "off" thing i see is the tree seems a bit tall/long for the scale...,
but theres not a lot that could be done about that (apart from replacing the tree)

still though, i really dig it !
