SC Are You OK????

JohnG, Eric and others in SC and Arthur, Jim in the mountains of NC, as well as the NC coast -----------ARE YOU OK? Way too much water and destruction. Not sure if any of us can help, if so give a shout out. In the meantime please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Here in the western mountains, we've had some heavy rain (13 inches in my rain gauge over 6 days), high water in the rivers and creeks, but nothing like they've had in the southern half of S. Carolina where flood waters are over the ROOFS of houses, 40,000 people are w/o water and 27,000 w/o electricity.  Hundreds of roads/bridges -- including Interstates 95, 20 and 26 are closed.

Haven't heard from John Quinn but John G. reports on B-Nut damage to his garden but otherwise OK.

My home and family are safe but there is extensive flooding in much of the state. At least 6 deaths in my city from drownings in submerged cars. The rain is stopping ( some areas had in excess of 20 inches) but now we are experiencing dam failures with further flooding and evacuations. Widespread water outages and boil water avisories for those who have water. I have several friends who are displaced due to flooding of their homes. Proud of my state's response in terms of generosity towards others and LACK of looting.

Yes.  I listened to Gov. Haley's news conference yesterday.  She's handling this as well as possible -- especially by not raising false hopes that everything will get done NOW!

Thanks Jim and John for your positive replies. SC with the help of neighboring states has indeed stepped up and is doing a great job.

There still are several we have not heard from or if there is some way we can help. How about it SC/NC folks, are you OK????
