Big question !!
Because of loving suiseki, I always want to collecte more and more suisekis to satisfy my indulge.
But i also wonder myself about this: Some suisekis are cut, others aren't. What the reason of cutting bottom suiseki? I thought suiseki were totally natural stones?

Re: Big question !!
The very best are not cut. The reason for cutting is to make a stone more easy to fit in a daiza. Some collectors are happy to accept that stones can be manufactured by cutting. If they are honest about it, there is no real problem, in my view.
