Toyonishiki Quince
Hi All
I have what I was told was a Toyonishiki flowering quince. It's flowers are white to begin with then fade to pink (not unlike the ''Appleblossum'' cultivar but larger).
My question: Does anyone else grow this variety and will/does it eventually from the white/pink/red dappled flowers we see in the Japanese pics? Is it Toyonishiki?
My tree is now 20 years old and it's flowers are always the same.
It will be in flower in a couple of weeks and I will post pics.
Thanks,
Mike, Australia

Re: Toyonishiki Quince
I bought one and planted it in the entrance to my japanese garden. it was 40 years old when I planted it there. 20 years later just one limb went red. so it took mine 60 years to come thru with the promised red. I did mark the limb with a tag so i could start some brochaded quince that bloomed red. good luck with yours.
