another 2nd year spirea
at flowering and one a few weeks later. i will let them grow the rest of the season then cut back to some primary branches and get into a smaller pot next spring
the roots neeed some serious work next spring as well. the top soil is a mat of roots and solid dirt. underneath is okay and clean bonsai but i was afraid to cut too much into the surface matt i have here. the rocks are just to control weeds

you must have some thoughts on what pot you'll be putting it into when it's ready. So what are you thinking? Round? Dark Blue?

I have both a round dark brown and a rectangle blue one on stand by. Both are maybe 4-5 inch pots and glazed. Or an oval brown unglazed...

Or maybe a red one. Most of the new growth on these is that reddish color which constantly grows all season
