Normally I pull all fertilizer at the end of july to avoid feeding when the trees have shut down due to the heat. But this year everything is a month ahead of time,So I'll be pulling end of june. Normally I'll skip two months and come back in september but will have to see what the next two months do regionally. I may come back early or I may have to adjust according to what I see.
What are others doing with their fertilization program?

Dick,

I normally stop fertilization at the end of June and re-start in the beginning of September. But this June has been very HOT here, probably the consistently hottest I've seen in the last 20 years. I just fertilized yesterday. I think I will play this one by ear based on the temperatures. Atypically, few of my trees grew much in June, which is usually the biggest growing month. It is very cool today, with a high of 82. If the temperatures remain in the 80's and lower 90's, I think I will continue to fertilize.

appreciate your input Stan.....
What should be of interest to those still learning (like myself Smile  ) is that normally our junes are in the 70's. Yesterday it was in the 90's. So while what is high here in The Pacific NW sounds like normal temps with you. So you really can't go by temperatures but more like what is "normal" for a particular region. Trouble with our hobby is the more you know the more you realize you have to learn.

I'm pretty close to that 50-ish F salty water, so it rarely ever gets above 85F at my place. Nevertheless, most everything takes a deep breath around mid-August to mid-Sep. I do about half of my seasonal repotting then. I keep pouring on the fertilizer all summer long.

You are right to not waste your fertilizer when the daily temperatures are generally above 95F because temperate trees don't grow when it is hotter than that. I do withhold fert from some pines, beginning when they start to push and resuming as soon as the new foliage is hardened, to reduce needle lengths; but this is a different reason than you are addressing.
