This is a nice little tree, but it's no Willow Leaf. This is a Ficus benjamina, probably a dwarf cultivar like 'Kiki'.

The surface root on the right seems awfully large and long in proportion to the trunk, don't you think? Back in a training pot if mine, I would cut off about 2/3 of what is visible and mostly cover it with soil to allow two or three new roots to branch off. The caveat is there needs to be enough roots to support the tree when the big one is removed. You probably don't have that problem where you live, despite the wicked December Evil or Very Mad you had.

It is a benjamina. It was mislabeled when originally acquired. Looking a bit better now.

taken 9/20/15 (pot = 10.5" diameter x 1.5" height) from bensbonsaipots on Etsy
