I have re-named my latest Landscape Saikei "Mountain Campsite".

It is now 95% complete and designed for 360 viewing on a Lazy Susan.

It measures 18"Wx14"Dx10"H

It is comprised of 5 Tansu Pine 4 1/2", various Japanese Pine seedlings 3" & 2 Juniper 3", + Misc
Pine cuttings, the Rock is Chinese Ying Rock...

I am considering entering it into Showing/Competition in May under Penjing/Saikei/Landscapes...

I would appreciate any and all comments and opinions.

Thanks

Chas.

I enjoy your landscapes, Chas. I believe someone mentioned in another thread having an unglazed pot for such a rough mountain view, and I agree wih that for a competition.

The first view you show us is remarkable for giving the impression of stone that has been there for a very long time, and I think more of that is needed in the last viewed pictured- moss, how the earth meets the stone edge, etc.

Just to the right of center in the first view, the small plants growing in crevices has a nice effect for me.

Im ready to pitch my tent there!

while i may not share david's libidinous enthusiasm Laughing
i too like it very very much, also with maybe the exception of the pot
however when i let my eye and mind relax, i find that it can be suggestive of water...

but maybe thats only because i am very fond of water and maybe tend to see it where it is not there...
like a mirage Shocked

the only other thing is maybe the trees growing in what would probably be a very shady spot between the rocks seen from the rear-view,
but that is a very minor point and i only mention it because i noticed it and that was my first thought...

keep 'em coming chas !

Very nice.  I'd still like to see pictures from this angle because I'm no bird.
