I remember 9-11, the 7 July 2005 London bombings, but when it happens at home...

And here, it's not only innocent victims, it's freedom of speech that was targeted.

Already, some are taking the opportunity to fuel hate and racism: my dark-skinned pupils, my colleagues, my friend, Mr Hassan, my local convenience store owner are alreadly the victims of these weirdos, losers who thought they could get a life when listening to fundamentalists when they spent time in jail for crimes for rape, theft, or anything that their "religion" forbids.

Jesus came to teach us how to love and to demonstrate that God knows how to love that's why Jesus died. He arose again to make us able to love---if we chose to. And in that is characterized the grace of God. It is our choice to do what we know to be right. Jesus provided us the way and ability to do it.

I guess bonsai is a way of life, so it's not off-target to talk about all of life in this forum.

Islam has been commandeered for selfish interests to a degree, but take heart.  The Spanish Inquisition, Crusades, and Nazism certainly must have looked like the death of all that is good, but the world (and Christianity) survived and grew.  The world (and Islam) will survive this as well.  The silent majority continue to quietly work for common good.

We can all hope that is true but often evil will almost destroys everything before that which is good overwhelms it through great sacrifaice and cost.

But living by a set of rules concocted by men, and unfortunately, those kind of men, with the most and the biggest guns,  seem to make the rules unless something else forbids it.  It is not living by a book 100-es of years old that is the problem.  It is living by the kind of human nature that rewards greed, lust, corruption, vengeance and pride.  Having nothing where-by these things are denounced there is no reason not to practice them. Many of the people who do these things hide behind a facade of religion. Hitler did and these fundamentalist thugs do as well.
