Lyme Sulfer Spill

Post  Carausius on Sat Nov 08, 2014 1:19 am

I've had a bottle of lyme sulfer sitting in my basement for a few years. Today. I lifted the bottle and part of the bottle base was stuck to the table, broke off, and spilled spilled lyme sulfer on the table top. Apparently the bottle had a slow leak at the base for some time which caused it to stick (I have noticed the smell off and on for a year or two - thought we had a dead mouse somewhere). My question: any advice on getting rid of the smell, both in the basement and from my fingertips?

Hard to get the smell off your hands.  The best thing I've found is to go to a fisherman's supply store and buy soaps that fishermen use to get the smell of fish off their hands.  Repeated washing should then do it.  Otherwise, something like LAVA soap MAY help.

As for the basement . . . Lysol scrubbing.  Full strength (wear gloves).

Moved to questions.
