what happened to dario ???
i thought he was saving this forum from a case of the "creeping malaise",
coupled with a good dose of "the vapors" ?
or was that just a seagull savior ?

I heard he was going to apprentice with a hermit bonsai guru on Mt. Fuji. It's supposed to be The place to go to learn bonsai. I heard it was tough though. I guess the first things you have to trim are the hermits toe nails. And you don't even want to know how the trees are fertilized with.

Khaimraj - youtube is blocked here at work, but i will check those out !
jimmy cliff came to milwaukee in support of his newest album - rebirth (before i had heard it)
i unfortunately passed on the show, expecting the new album to be along the lines of his later work...
instead it was back to the old school greatness...
my daughter went and said i really missed a good one... damn.
lastly matt... no need to PM.
all the hardships in my life, of which there have been many,
cannot compare to the hardships of others around the world.
so i try not to complain.

Elvez!!!
Bonsai folk should mix some of that into their soil mix - I'm sure it would produce enhanced growth. Something to do with Nitrogen - in all its forms!?

Kevin,
I enjoyed that. Thank you.
Just to keep this Bonsai, I have discovered that I should return to my previous practices of 1/3 Lawn fertiliser during our more or less 6 month dry season, and the use of an osmocote type from Israel, designed for use at 30 deg.C [ 86 deg.F ]
for the next 6 months.
The trees in full sun need the boost to stay green. I started to get die back with the use of 1/3 20/20/20 and only the slower growers seemed to appreciate the compost tea.
My J.B.pines are just about ready to go up in pot size. No complaints with the 5 mm silca based builder's gravel and compost as a soil mix.
In fact it works well with Ficus p. ,Junipers and the pines.
Following Yvonne G's Leca [ hydroponic pebbles ] with organic mix , the Ficus also grow well.
I even hand rolled enough clay pebbles 8 mm to do a ficus p. and the results are excellent.
As usual repotting is the 2nd of January next year.
Perhaps Dario is busy getting ready to start next year.
Later.
