My web exhibition display 2014 Dsc00411

This time I have tried a normal exhibition style.
The tittle is "Welcome here".

From left to right:
Ligustrum obtusifolium, Japanese white pine, figurine(kingfisher)  and Fallopia japonica.

Dear Nekotoban

You have beautiful mame bonsai.

I also like the Raku fired pot that the pine is in.  But how on earth will you get it out again?

I can see that like me you like beautifull things.   But  your dispay lacks artistic rhythm.  You make the same mistake as Jim s Wife....and the rest of the world....hihihihihihi   You display items in a Stippled line... In other words,  the negative space between your display items, are too much the same.

You should group (for instance)  the  stunning ligustrum, with the Fallaopia Kusamono and Kingfisher Ni ren together in one corner,   and then balance it with the Pine bonsai on the opposite, here you can play with the field of depth.  By placing the one further back than the other.

I can see that you were trying to prevail  the "Welcome" in your title-  "Welcome Here", by   slanting of the jiitas.   This doesnt work,   as now you create two perspective lines that makes your eyes focus on the vanishing point,  witch end up in the middle of nowhere...

Always keep everything at perpendicular angle.

Im also still learning everything...But it seems  the experts  lack the will to explain.... or maybe they are just very very tired   hihihihihihihi  this is the truth tough. scratch

So here s Me, the humblest of them all, trying to help.. Laughing  Laughing

Love and light

Hi Andre,
Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate very much. You are brave bonsai man. Smile

Of course, I'll break it…joking Laughing   I'll manage somehow.

Oh yes, I know this time I screwed up. To my excuse, I had no time to submit to the exhibition. I just put the tree on there,
took some picture a couple of days before the expiring date and then e-mailed it on the day. I mostly agree with you
except gathering three items.

Ok, in that case, which way would the flow(nagare/流れ) go? Ive tried to make right flow on this display by setting ligstrum and whitepine on left…both tree's heads are flowing to right, so kingfisher and accent could catch the flow.

As you mentioned the image of this display is scattered. I should have more considered total balance. Especially about lines. Maybe I should have omit one tree to make three point display. Four is too much. Less is more.

I shall keep this in my heart.

By the way, I'm not an expert. I'm also still on the way of learning how to display. I mean how to display with my own values. Smile

Sincerely,
nekotoban
