i had tried there yes, its a great site.

i'm pretty sure the first picture was upside down as some of the characters look to be old chinese the other way up  Smile

It, and several other trees, came directly into the UK to accompany the cars at the Toyota japan motor show in the science museum 2007. They were then entrusted to a trained professional here in the UK to tend & sell on behalf of Seiji Morimae, the Japanese owner.

this could be the right way up

i'll try the gallery of chops again........

cheers

It's China 東寳公造Tohokozo. In Chinese, Dongbaogongzao.
According to Kinbon, Tohokozao chop can be seen rough unglazed(Ara-syudei荒朱泥 or 紫泥Shidei)
rectangle pot. It's said that the quality seems not so high.

Neli, I'd also like to hear from your Japanese friend for input to myself. Smile

quote:

Thank you☆

I think that one is old Japanese.
東寶公造 tou hou kou zou
thats good sign and seal.
over 100 to 150 years ago.

I want to see panoramic view and some photo of some angle!!

good morning Neli,

thankyou so much for the time and effort. That is the exact stamp so we have the answer
The only slight anomaly is the country of origin it seems as both comments below seem to refer to the same kiln/maker

" I think that one is old Japanese.
東寶公造 tou hou kou zou
thats good sign and seal.
over 100 to 150 years ago." Suzuki san

"It's China 東寳公造Tohokozo. In Chinese, Dongbaogongzao." Nekotoban

I will take more pictures today, nice ones  Very Happy

back soon,

Marcus

What one of the guys from Japan said is that there used to be a Japanese maker long ago that was making the same type of pots like this chinese one. I asked the value and age now I am waiting for answers...

ahhh, thanks, that is clearer, (I believed it to be old chinese)...... i dont really mind the value, (even though it is nice to know), the pot and tree will stay together and will remain in my personal tree collection for some time. We get field grown pines for sale very easily whenever we need them, so I was looking for a more unique genuine wild tree and to be able to get this tree & pot combination was a real bonus

Does this make any sense to you?
Translated from jpanese:
Collection Period: Xuantong Location: Nantong City, Jiangsu Province
clear night Toho old Yixing pots of public money made "Chinese ancient pots appreciation"
old Yixing pots "Chinese ancient pot
Thisis what Mr Suzuki said:

実物を見てみないとだいたいしか分かりません。おそらくですが、100年前後の古い鉢で、7〜8万円ぐらいの価値かと思います。

I do not know only roughly If you do not take a look at the real thing. It is probably, I think in the old pot of around 100 years, whether value of about 7-80000 yen.

It is a document that you created in the translation app

thankyou Neli,

you're contacts have given a lot more information on my pot than i could ever have found out. The suzuki san who gave the information - is it shinji ? i was sold a tree a few years ago (raw material japanese collected cuspidata) that the seller mentioned may have come from him.

thanks again for your time and effort
