Is this a bonsai mangrove?

I got it from a friend who claims he grew it. Im from kiamba, sarangani prov.  philippines. I did some research and my search yielded images of mangrove bonsais and they look similar to my plant. I just need to be sure so i will know how to take care of it properly. If someone would be so nice as to  include the latter, it would be greatly appreciated...

Bonsai - Generic term for trees grown in a certain way as to represent small but old trees
Mangrove: Generic term used for tree-species that grow under saline, wet conditions, typically on coastlines.

I tried but not sure if it worked. Tricky using just iphone. Dont think it worked. Im such a loaf with texh stuff.... I'll just post it on fb, my account is john paul belmonte. Please help me id the plant and save it from demise! Lol
