Mallsai ficus Empty Mallsai ficus

I bought one last week to work on. they are 2 sets of roots on the trunk. I want to get roots started on the top set of roots where i can pot it more upright..should i chop the trunk between the root systems or ring bark it and apply rooting harmone when i re pot it ??? thanks in advance john

Thanks Doug,, I do not have a camera to post pics.. I have already ring barked the tree and put it in a deeper pot to cover the first set of roots... now will wait and see if i did it right !! i have seen post here of other people doing the same thing.. wish me luck,, take care john

I would like to know, after i did the ring bark on my tree last night and potted how long does it take for the roots to form ??? Thank you in advance take care john

Normally from 6 weeks to a few years, species and location depending.
