Prunus spinosa in the making

I dug (read: my husband) this yamadori blackthorn up 6 years ago...it still has a long way to go...but for the first time has it rewarded me with a flower right in the top

the tree is standing 34 cm tall

The top look a bit strange now, as I unfortunately had a twig die back
Still a lot of work .

To today, 5 years later

The blackthorne standing 34 cm tall

Are going to make a no-no with the tree...it need some filling up in the front, and as the lowest part of the tree is leaning slightly backwards, are there room for a crossing branch...I make shure it does not cover the deadwood

What do you think of this ?

I think it is too early to bring the branch to the front. If I look at your early pics I can see that if you continue straight out with that branch, some of it will cover the front of the trunk when it ramifies more. This will be enough. If you bend it now it will look artificial later in my opinion.
In other words, always come away from the trunk at more or less 90 degrees (in the horizontal)

You were right if I still bended the branches...but I dont any more, my taste have changed, I want my broadleafed trees to grow upwards.
All the older branches that was bend down is basicly removed now, the thin subbranch that we speak of is the one in red

The direction of it is like I want it...it will help to fill out the gap in the left front.
