Repotting a JBP Empty Repotting a JBP

I have a Japanese Black Pine that has been in the same pot for 4 yrs now. I have been out of town for a 2 months and was wondering if I can still repot it since it is almost May. I am in Central Texas zone 8. It is strong and healthy.

You probably could, but if it is strong and healthy . . . why?

Repotting a JBP Empty Repotting

It has been in this training pot for about 4 yrs, and I would assume that it is fairly root bound. I have kind of let it go wild for that 4 yrs and just want to make sure it stays healthy while I find a design for it.
