For all the Hawthorn Professionals
just acquired two hawthorns i know the general care for them does anyone have any tips secrets or general care i might need to know. feeding pruning any and all are welcome

Hawthorn Care
Graham Potter gives some good advice on his Youtube video site. Harry Harrington also gives some good advice on his website and in his books.They can object to too much root disturbance but are pretty tough and forgiving above soil level.

ive seen grahams stuff and read harrys things off his site not the book thanks look forward to being able to post progression pictures

Feed very well in the growing season and prune new shoots before they begin to harden off. Do not re-pot hawthorn very often, we recommend every 3-6 years depending upon the size of pot and rate of growth. Thats what G Potter says

I am not a proff.wannabe, but a happy amateur...I repot every year without any troubble, done it for several years....

This is my tread, it is basicly about hawthorns, of big sice, I dug up in 2011...one of them look a bit like yours.
Maybe you can use some of it.
