Home made bonsai bench for about $60
With spring fast approaching, and my dome house on the back burner. I was in need of a bonsai bench. After today the temperatures are suppose to be in the mid to upper 70's this week. My tree's needed some where outside to go. So I built this bench in a couple of hours today for about $60.00 (I did use two 2" x 6"s I had laying around). I need to add one more shelf as I was undecided if I wanted 2 or 3 shelf's, but the 5/4 board is only $4.00 for an 8 footer.
Thanks for looking,
Joe

Did the dome house really turn into a doom house?
BTW nice use of stair stringers.

Looking good Joe. I learned the hard way a long time ago to not put a bonsai pot flat on a solid shelf. The water will pool between the pot and shelf and drown the tree. How is your greenhouse? Mine (2nd from Turner in Goldsboro) has been running 100f and more in day time. Guess I need to get the electric down so the exhaust system cools things down. Take care.

Thanks Doug, all my trees have humidity trays under them. The shelving is deck boards, so there is a gap between the boards. If it becomes a problem, I'll switch to 1"by's. The greenhouse is on hold atm. I tried to contact Turners via e-mail to see if they or knew of a local place to buy poly-carbine sheets. They never returned my e-mail.

Are those legs anchored, or just sitting on the ground?
I made one a few years ago and the legs just sat on the dirt and rotted out. Now I put the legs on small stepping stones.

It's all treated wood, but I will keep and eye on it. Thanks
