Watering Can

I'm desperate. My watering can is crumbling. I can't find this design anywhere, not even from Hawes. It is unique, specifically designed to be filled from a bucket. I can't believe I'm the only one in the world who fills a watering can from a bucket. If you know anyone who makes or sells this type of watering can, please let me know. I don't care what it costs or the shipping charges.

Iris, I'll be on the lookout for you... I'm going to Tractor Supply and a Hydroponics store this week...

Of course I looked for a name on the bottom. The only company by that name at present is in Australia, and there is nothing like this on their web site.
I contacted a local plastics factory. They explained that this is a low-tech item which is imported from China, not made in the US. On their recommendation, I contacted the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce trying to find an importer who might be interested. They never even answered me.
I've started looking on eBay.

I have an older one that I too fill in a 5gal bucket. My new Haws is over a gallon capacity and I dont think it will work in a bucket. I hope it will. You should look at Haws and find a smaller capacity version. I believe they give dimensions, so see if any of them will fit into a 5 gallon bucket. If not you may need to resort to pouring from the bucket to fill the can. Not a terrible way to go.

All the Haws watering cans have the handle in the back. Pouring water from the bucket into the watering can is not an option, except for the last gallon.
I just ordered a watering can from e-Bay that is similar to mine. Dimensions weren't given; I hope it fits. I'll let you know.

I've tried Haws, Hozelock, and a lot of others from $1 upwards, the best one for me is Kaneshin's ... easy to control flow, fine as rain pouring that won't dig out the soil (just like Haws).  I still keep my Haws Conservatory for outdoors ...

It works beautifully. It appears to be well made. The spout screws on separately. A minor complaint is that it is not calibrated, but I can measure water into it if necessary. Only major complaint is that it comes with a rose, but not a spout extension. The extension I have only fits in backwards, but it works.
The seller listed today is not the same one I bought it from, part of the mysteries of Chinese economics.

happy news!

i have an old plastic wash tub that i use for mixing fertiliser, etc. i calibrated it myself, using an indelible marker on the outside of the vessel to record specific volumes.
if your new watering can is translucent, it may lend itself to similar treatment.

brett that sounds great i just placed an order with kaneshin for the copper can No.183BS i'm looking forward to using this as it hold 4 times the water my haws copper can holds and they just make quality tools

Since first seeing this post I've been trying to find the one's I've used for years.

No handle across the large hole. I have 2 sizes, 3 and 6 liter. And the nozzle screen is removable which for me is necessary since I use rain water from a barrel. If I keep looking I could probably find the other sizes. And I will since I'll need another one in the future.

The one from Dallas Bonsai Garden has the handle in the back, making it unsuitable for dipping in a bucket. If you notice my original one, and the one I just bought, the handle is only on the top, so you can get water out of a 5 gallon bucket, all but the last gallon.

I posted a link to my new one. My husband bought a piece of plastic tubing & wedded the spout to the extension in holy matrimony. It's bigger than my last one, & heavier when full. Hope my shoulders hold out.

My only complaint at this point is there is something about the way it balances that causes me to spill water all over me.
